I conceived this piece as a shroud whose function would be to wrap life rather than death.The permutation on four letters spells four different words: veil, evil, vile and live. The first three words are written in black and live is written in red, reoccurring more and more frequently as a kind of musical crescendo, asserting the power of life over destruction.
